Dr. Irma McClaurin will participate in the African American Intellectual History Society (AAIHS) Third Annual Conference Brandeis University, March 30-31, 2018 (https://www.aaihs.org/general-information/).
She will present on “Building a ‘Home’ for Black Intellectual Thought in the Irma McClaurin Black Feminist Archive” on the panel “Strategic Approaches to Creating, Teaching, and Preserving Black Intellectual Thought.” Other presenters include Amilcar Priestley, Director of the AFrolatino Project on “Building Visibility of AfroLatino Thought through the Afrolatino Project; Kesho Scott, Grinnell College on “From the Streets of Detroit to the Cornfields of Iowa: Why Archiving My Life as a Black intellectual Matters;” and Whitney Battle-Baptiste, University of Massachusetts Amherst on “Carrying on a Legacy of Making Black Thought Matters Through the W.E.B. Du Bois Center.”
